Off to the Amazon!

It has been a little over a month since we first moved here! Slowly but surely life is beginning to develope some sense of routine. We have a car (praise the Lord!) and are suppose to move into our new house tomorrow. We found a great house to rent that is close to the church that has enough room to enable us to have young people over and host teams. There are many exciting events happening now that summer is right around the corner.

Last weekend was the city-wide “March for Jesus”. Christians from churches all around Fortaleza got together to march in a parade singing worship songs and praying for the city. It was a really hot day and we were in the middle of the march, hardly able to see the front or back of the line. It was so exciting to see such a huge group of Brazilians on fire for Jesus and dedicated to seeing their city won for Jesus. It was a great testimony to the lines of people that stood at the side of the parade curious at what would make such a huge group of people march throughout the city on such a hot day.

Wednesday we go to Santarem, a town on the Amazon basin, to meet a team of Americans from the church that Isaiah was a youth pastor at in California. We’ll be going with them on a boat trip providing medical care, putting in water filters and building a church. We’ll also be participating in the Congresso, a huge conference in Santarem that fills the soccer stadium 3 nights in a row as the gospel is shared with thousands of people through worship, drama, and speaking. Please pray for our trip to Santarem and this upcoming conference that many people will make decisions to follow Christ and that many would be healed physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Thank you so much for your support of our ministry; we have been blessed and encouraged through your prayers and encouraging words. Praise the Lord that we have been healthy these past weeks and that God provided a computer for us through Isaiah’s uncle Abe after ours crashed!

All our love,

Isaiah and Erin Huber
