We made it!

It’s been a week since we landed in Fortaleza, Brazil! We had a really good last week in California spending time with Erin’s family and saying goodbye to friends. It wasn’t easy to say goodbye but we’re so grateful to internet and skype that allows us to keep in touch! We both got sick a couple days before our trip so we were pretty worn out after the 20 hour trip. We were so happy to see Isaiah’s cousin, aunt and uncle at the airport! We have been staying at Isaiah’s aunt and uncle’s house while looking for an apartment/house to rent and a car to buy. So far we have a couple possibilities but nothing for sure. The first couple days we spent running around trying to get all of our paperwork in order, who knew it could take 4 trips to the bank before you could open an account?  I (Erin) am always reminded how easy life in America is when I’m in a different country. We are so grateful that, with the help of Isaiah’s aunt, we found a Portuguese tutor for Erin. Classes start tomorrow ready or not!

Yesterday Isaiah woke up with a fever, swollen lymph nodes, and a really sore throat. After looking in his throat it was obvious that he had come downwith strep throat:(. Thankfully you can get antibiotics over the counter here and this morning his fever broke. He is still recovering a doing better. Please pray for our health as we’ve been sick on and off this week making it difficult to get moved in. Please also pray that God will show us where He wants us to live, what car we should buy, and that He would give me the motivation and brain power to learn Portuguese! Praise God that we are here in Fortaleza, we are excited to see how God is going to use us here.

I love you two…and have watched your journey from afar. Whenever I see a picture of the two of you, I just want to smile: SO much j-o-y!!! May the Lord bless you immensely as you get settled into your ministries in Brazil. The choir is actually singing a song in Portuguese for the spring concert; shall I make a dedication to the two of you?

    Blessings—Martie Tarter

    Erin & Isaiah
Hi. I really miss both of you, but am really happy for you at the same time. I know that God will see you through all of this and things will come together for both of you soon.

I am Sorry to hear you both got sick, that is probably the result from the excitement of the transition from her to Brazil.

I called my phone co Sprint and they informed me that if I was to call you and you still had a phone number for the US that the calls would be free, so it you still have a US phone number that you are using call your phone co. and see if the have the same thing and maybe we can talk I have a lot of problems with skype I don’t know a lot about it yet.
but I am trying to learn more LOL.

Isaiah I have a piece of mail from Geico for you I hope you don’t mind I opened it to see if I needed to get it to you it was just a notice that they had canceled you insurance as you requested and they would send you any money if any was refundable so let me know if you need this, and send me you address.

I Love You Both and hope to hear from you soon.

    Joyce
